Josh:  1 Peter 2:24 (HCSB)  “He Himself bore our sins in His body on the tree, so that, having died to sins, we might live for righteousness; you have been healed by His wounds.”  What a precious verse that reminds me of the healing I have received.

Lindsey:  1 Peter 1:18  (NLT)  “For you know that God paid a ransom to save you from the empty life you inherited from your ancestors. And it was not paid with mere gold or silver, which lose their value.”  I wonder why I still make choices for things that are empty.

Josh:  James 2:5 (HCSB)  “Listen, my dear brothers: Didn’t God choose the poor in this world to be rich in faith and heirs of the kingdom that He has promised to those who love Him?” This reminds me of the song from Lecrae titled “Being Broke Made Me Rich”.  The chorus says, “Gotta keep the stove hot so it cook right, if everybody eating that’s a good night, headed to the lost is why I took flight, but the hard times made for a good life.  I said being broke made me rich.”

Lindsey:  James 1:18 (NLT)  “He chose to give birth to us by giving us his true word. And we, out of all creation, became his prized possession.”  If I’ve been born through his Word, then the more I align myself with his Word, the more alive I’ll be.

Josh:  Hebrews 11:38a (HCSB)  “The world was not worthy of them.”  What a great honor it would be to have this said about me.

Lindsey:  Hebrews 11:27 (NLT)  “It was by faith that Moses left the land of Egypt, not fearing the king’s anger. He kept right on going because he kept his eyes on the one who is invisible.”  I think this phrase truly embodies how we walk by faith:  “he kept his eyes on the one who is invisible.”

Lindsey:  Hebrews 10:16 (NLT)  “This is the new covenant I will make with my people on that day, says the Lord: I will put my laws in their hearts, and I will write them on their minds.”  I’m so thankful that God will put his laws inside of us so we’ll always have them with us.

Josh:  Hebrews 7:27 (HCSB)  “He doesn’t need to offer sacrifices every day, as high priests do—first for their own sins, then for those of the people. He did this once for all when He offered Himself.”  Thank you Lord for providing a perfect sacrifice in your Son Jesus Christ. What a beautiful story you have written!

Lindsey:  Hebrews 7:19 (NLT)  “For the law never made anything perfect. But now we have confidence in a better hope, through which we draw near to God.”  I’m so thankful we have this better hope.

Lindsey:  Hebrews 2:1 (NLT)  “So we must listen very carefully to the truth we have heard, or we may drift away from it.”  In deed!

Josh:  Titus 2:7 (HCSB)  “In everything.  Make yourself an example of good works with integrity and dignity in your teaching.”  Wow!  The bar has been set.  No grey areas here. Lord help me to always be a good example of a Christ-follower.

Lindsey:  Titus 3:5a (NLT)  “He saved us, not because of the righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy.”  It’s all about Him — His goodness and His kindness.

Josh:  2 Timothy 2:2 (HCSB) “And what you have heard from me in the presence of many witnesses, commit to faithful men who will be able to teach others also.”  We are the vehicle that God uses to bring his redemption message to people so that they can turn around and share it with others.  This is at the heart of discipleship.  Awesome!

Lindsey:  2 Timothy 4:5 (NLT) “But you should keep a clear mind in every situation. Don’t be afraid of suffering for the Lord. Work at telling others the Good News, and fully carry out the ministry God has given you.”  Keeping a clear mind is a struggle for me but is a good goal to have.

Josh:  1 Timothy 1:15 (HCSB)  “This saying is trustworthy and deserving of full acceptance: ‘Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners’—and I am the worst of them.”  Yep, that sums up my testimony as well!

Lindsey:  1 Timothy 4:14-16a (NLT)  “Do not neglect the spiritual gift you received through the prophecy spoken over you when the elders of the church laid their hands on you. Give your complete attention to these matters. Throw yourself into your tasks so that everyone will see your progress. Keep a close watch on how you live and on your teaching.”  Amen!

Josh:  2 Thessalonians 2:11 (HCSB)  “For this reason God sends them a strong delusion so that they will believe what is false.”  If someone neglects the truth long enough and hardens their heart against God, he will give them over to the lies they desire.

Lindsey:  2 Thessalonians 2:8 (NLT)  “Then the man of lawlessness will be revealed, but the Lord Jesus will slay him with the breath of his mouth and destroy him by the splendor of his coming.”  Wow!
